A good early 1827 pattern example large, with proof marks ‘Ezekiel Emmanuel’ with a star over a crescent moon, with a 79.25 cm slightly curved, wide fullered blade, etched with scrolling foliage, with crowned post 1837 Royal arms and large a crowned fouled anchor, a regulation gilt gothic hilt with folding section incorporating a Victorian crowned fouled anchor, a bold early lion's head pommel, with a wired ribbed white fish skin grip, with a partial regulation sword knot contained in its engraved brass mounted black leather scabbard, with a locket badge of ‘Ezekiel Emmanuel, Cutlers To Her Majesty, 3 Hard Portsea And 101 High Street, Portsmouth’, the scabbard snapped above the lower brass mount, otherwise good service worn condition £200-£240.
