The frontal gaze, the collective stance, the minimalist composition give the scene a rare symbolic strength. The Last Guardians is not just an animal image: it is an allegory of a world that is faltering. These white figures, powerful and vulnerable at the same time, embody what remains to be protected. They move forward together, as if survival could no longer be individual. The dark water, the subdued sky, the absence of superfluous scenery reinforce the sense of a threshold: that of a before and after. The work speaks of climate, of course, but above all of responsibility. It questions our role in the face of what disappears slowly, without a sound. ⸻⸻⸻ WORDS FROM THE ARTIST « They do not flee. They advance. This image was born of that silent dignity that one sometimes finds in those who have only the group left to hold them. » — Rudy Barret ⸻⸻⸻ ABOUT THE ARTIST Rudy Barret is a creator of art images.
