Lot of 5 silver kopeks of the "wire money" type in the name of Ivan IV the Terrible, Tsar of Russia (1533-1584). Manual striking characteristic of early medieval/early modern Russian coinage, on an irregular planchet obtained from a silver wire cut and flattened before striking. Obverse with a rider (a horseman with a spear, a typical kopek motif) and partial Cyrillic legends; reverse with inscriptions in several lines. Pieces with wear, dark patina and partially legible legends typical of this type of coinage. No individual classification by mint or variant has been performed; the images are an essential part of the description.
