S.A. des Faïenceries de Thulin - Jardinière - Large oval...

Large Art Deco jardinière with maple leaf relief – Poterie de Thulin – circa 1925-1930 A stunning antique Art Deco flower box / jardinière, manufactured by the renowned Belgian factory S.A. des Faïenceries de Thulin. This oval model with four distinctive knop feet is cataloged in historical guides under model number 2071. The piece is adorned all around with a striking relief of maple leaves. The standout feature is the sublime quality of the glaze: a deep cobalt blue upper rim that organically transitions into a spectacular drip glaze (émaux coulants) with flowing ochre yellow, earthy brown, and grass green bands. As is very typical for Thulin, the recessed model number on the underside during firing has been sealed shut by the generous glaze layers. A beautiful, authentic piece of Belgian ceramic heritage!
