Sagrasse (1966) - Countdown

Sagrasse (1966) - Countdown

Sagrasse (Sandro Grassetti, born in 1966) is a Marche-born artist whose life roots lie in artisanal craftsmanship. For forty years he has worked in the shadow of his workshop in a small municipality among the hills of the Marche region, specializing at the highest levels in resin processing, varnishing, and chrome plating. The turning point of his life arrives with the COVID-19 pandemic: the forced lockdown and the suspension of time become an emotional catalyst, pushing him to unleash the artistic urgency he had always nurtured. What for decades had been "only" a technique of excellence thus becomes the means to give life to modern, vibrant, and ironic pop sculptures. Today Sagrasse has transformed his artisanal know-how into a recognized language of contemporary art, proving that it is never too late to give voice to one’s most authentic talent. Title - Cowntdown resin - Hand-signed - 2025 Technique: Resin world, metallized wick. Dimensions: h25 cm, diameter 20 cm. Condition: new. Certificate of authenticity - hand-engraved signature. Edition: limited edition 499 ex. - Metal gun The artwork will be carefully packaged and shipped with a trackable courier service. In recent years his work has earned important public and private recognitions, culminating in participation in prestigious exhibitions. Notable among these are his presence at the Contemporary Art Exhibition "Arte Venezia" in 2025, collaboration with the VERUM Center for Art and Culture, and inclusion of his works in the renowned Fuser Private Collection. From artisan to signatory of the Neo-Pop landscape, Sagrasse demonstrates how a lifetime of experience can be transformed into pure and recognized artistic expression. Sagrasse is not simply an artist who uses resin; he is a master craftsman who has freed the technique from the constraint of function, putting it at the service of imagination. His works are colored mirrors in which our society is reflected: pop, bright, ironic, and irresistibly modern. Sagrasse’s work sits squarely in the lineage of New Pop Art and Urban Art. While the comparison to Banksy is evident for its strong satirical charge, irony, and the ability to reinterpret icons of daily life or pop culture in a critical key, Sagrasse’s universe closely dialogues with other giants of the international scene such as Jeff Koons, KAWS, Takashi Murakami, Mr. Brainwash, and Richard Orlinski. The object is an exclusive Sagrasse creation. It is a handcrafted artwork, conceived and made entirely in Italy. The small imperfections that may be found are the natural characteristic of completely manual production. It is recommended not to expose to heat sources; clean only with a soft cloth, without detergents.
