Saint Isidore the Farmer. Spanish School. 18th Century

Descriptio Carved, polychromed, and gilded wood. Dimensions: 90 x 48 x 18 cm. Sculpture of Saint Isidore standing, dressed in a gilded tunic and a mantle decorated with floral motifs, holding agricultural implements. The piece is distinguished by the detail in the face and the vibrancy of the polychromy, in the style of popular Castilian Baroque. A typical representation of 18th-century rural devotion, where imagery combined narrative and religious elements with pious realism. It retains its original patina and polychromy. Due to its age and history of use, this lot may show signs of wear and previous interventions. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, no specialized technical testing has been performed. The absence of any mention of restorations does not guarantee that none exist. You may request additional information before placing a bid. This does not affect the buyer’s statutory rights.
