SALESMAN SAMPLE VAULT DOOR -CORLISS SAFE COMPANY- COMPLETE VAULT SALESMAN’S SAMPLE Providence, Rhode Island • AN ENTIRE 1880s BANK VAULT IN MINIATURE An extraordinarily rare Corliss salesman’s demonstration model, created to showcase the construction, security and mechanical operation of a full-size bank vault to prospective customers. Remarkable for its completeness, this restored example includes the outer vault door, full vestibule, inner doors, ornamental security gate and intricate exposed skeleton boltwork. Constructed of cast iron, polished brass and nickel, the model features elaborate period-correct graphics and fully functioning mechanical components. Even the polished wood base was engineered with purpose—acting as a counterbalance so the exceptionally heavy miniature vault door can swing open while the display remains upright. A COMPLETE 19TH-CENTURY BANK VAULT — ENGINEERED IN MINIATURE FOR THE SALESMAN’S HAND.
