Salt and pepper container set (6) - .925 silver - Victorian/Art Nouveau

Set of six American sterling silver repousse salt and pepper shakers, circa 1910 Set of six individual salt and pepper shakers (3 salt, 3 pepper) in 925 sterling silver, of American origin, consisting of three salt shakers and three pepper shakers, as indicated by its owner. Each piece features a bulbous, flared body with a threaded perforated lid. The seal 'STERLING' visible on the caps and on the base confirms the silver standard under American regulation, probably produced toward the end of the 19th century or early 20th century, in the late Victorian/Edwardian style highly valued at the time. Manufactured in sterling silver (925/000) using repoussé and chased techniques, they display rich decorative motifs of floral designs and vegetal scrolls in relief around the shoulder, while the lower part features a globular or radially fluted body. The upper lids have a festooned edge with perforations arranged in a circular pattern for condiment pouring. Each piece measures approximately 4–4.5 cm in height and about 3.5 cm in diameter at the base, weighing between 7.5 g and 8 g each, resulting in elegant, manageable individual-sized desk salt and pepper shakers. The condition is generally good. The pieces retain their sharp decoration and the screw caps function correctly. A patina and darkening typical of aging silver are visible, especially in the crevices of the repoussé work, as well as light signs of use. Some bases show scratching (visible in the photo of the hallmark). No significant dents or structural losses are observed. Individual sterling silver salt and pepper sets from this era are highly prized by tableware collectors and by those seeking to complement refined place settings. The presentation as a complete set of six pieces increases its interest and value, as it is difficult to assemble complete and homogeneous sets. Their Victorian craftsmanship with abundant floral repoussé makes them decorative and functional at the same time. Period: Circa 1910 Material: Silver Origin: United States Condition: Good
