Salvador Dali This work is an Italian edition of Miguel de Cervantes' classic masterpiece: Publication Details Title: Don Chisciotte della Mancia (from the Gli Immortali collection). Publisher: Editoriale Del Drago (Milan), distributed exclusively by Master Italia (Verona). Year: 1988. Illustrations: Features original artwork and illustrations by Salvador Dalí. Pages finished in 24 carat gold Format: Large format (approx. 23 × 29 cm / quarto), bound in green faux leather with gold detailing on the spine, accompanied by a protective slipcase. The complete work consists of 2 volumes totaling around 746 to 760 pages (approximately 376–379 pages for Volume I and 370–380 pages for Volume II). This two-volume edition of Don Quixote features illustrations by Salvador Dalí, one of the most celebrated and commercially successful surrealist masters in history, whose market presence ranks alongside the world’s most sought-after artists—such as Leonardo da Vinci, Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol, Gustav Klimt, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Vincent van Gogh, Claude Monet, Paul Cézanne, Francis Bacon, Amedeo Modigliani, Mark Rothko, Jackson Pollock, Willem de Kooning, Paul Gauguin, Alberto Giacometti, Edvard Munch, Rembrandt, Roy Lichtenstein, Qi Baishi, and Cy Twombly. While legendary figures like da Vinci or Picasso command hundreds of millions at auction, Dalí’s distinct, dreamlike visual vocabulary—here captured in his interpretations of Cervantes' epic—connects this accessible literary masterpiece directly to the upper echelon of fine art history.
