Sam Shaw - Marilyn Monroe, The Seven Year Itch, New York 1955

Sam Shaw – Marilyn Monroe, The Seven Year Itch, New York 1955 This famous photograph of Marilyn Monroe was taken by photographer Sam Shaw during the filming of Billy Wilder's The Seven Year Itch (When the Wife Goes on Vacation). The image captures the iconic scene in cinema history, where the actress's white dress rises above a Lexington Avenue subway grate in New York. It is one of the most iconic shots in cinema and 20th-century pop culture. From an aesthetic standpoint, the work encapsulates the essence of Marilyn Monroe’s myth: sensuality, lightness, and charisma, combined with the spontaneity that has made her an eternal cinema icon. The composition, with the dress in motion and the actress’s radiant smile, conveys the energy of a moment that forever marked the collective imagination. In a decor context, this poster is a visually and culturally impactful element. Perfect for modern and metropolitan spaces, it immediately conveys glamour and cinema history. In spaces with minimal design, it becomes the focal point of the room, while in more classical environments it adds a timeless touch of elegance and lightness. All our posters are printed on high-quality material, in the original edition and format. These elements are essential to distinguish an authentic print from an unauthorized copy.
