This hand-woven designer rug with a Samarkand pattern blends traditional oriental motifs with a discreet, modern color scheme. The finely worked design features numerous stylized animal, plant, and geometric motifs that give the rug a particularly lively yet harmonious character. The base color appears in a restrained gray with a slight green- and natural-tone. On it lie numerous small ornaments in rust red, orange, yellow, cream, blue, dark blue, and brown. Thanks to the muted color palette, the many details come across as pleasantly balanced and pair wonderfully with both modern and classic furnishings. Particularly characteristic is the varied imagery: rows of stylized animals, small flowers, plants, and abstract geometric signs alternate with one another. Several narrow, ornamental borders frame the central field and echo the animal and plant motifs. The color-striped finishes on the narrow sides provide an additional decorative accent. Details Artwork: Hand-woven designer rug Design: Samarkand pattern Size: approx. 240 × 168 cm Origin: Pakistan Manufacture: Hand-woven Condition: New Base color: Gray / gray-green Accent colors: Rust red, orange, yellow, cream, blue, dark blue, and brown Motifs: Stylized animals, flowers, plants, and geometric ornaments Style: Samarkand, Oriental, Ethno, Modern Classic Shape: Rectangular With a size of 240 × 168 cm, the rug is very well suited for living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, studies, or a generous entry area. Because of its calm base color, it can be combined with light natural tones and woods as well as with restrained modern furniture. The multitude of small motifs makes this rug particularly interesting: Only from a distance does a calm overall impression emerge, while up close new details can always be discovered. It is precisely this combination of fine ornamentation and restrained color palette that gives the rug its distinctive designer character. Due to traditional handwork, minor deviations in shape, drawing, and texture may occur. Such irregularities emphasize the handmade character and make each piece a unique item. An expressive hand-woven designer rug in Samarkand style – richly detailed, elegant, and versatile to combine. 226473
