San Antonio, Texas. $20 1929 Ty. 2. Fr. 1802-2. NB of Fort Sam Houston. Charter #13578. PCGS Banknote Very Fine 20. Representative of a bank that records 42 notes in the National Bank Note Census. This evenly circulated T2 $20 issued during the 1930s represents a title that just screams "TEXAS!" Issued by the National Bank of Fort Sam Houston at San Antonio (Charter# 13578) which had organized in 1931, bidders should note that this institution is one of a small handful to be named after a military installation and is avariciously pursued by collectors here in the present. To that end, some bidder may think that the supply of notes recorded may seem respectable at first glance, but between infrequent appearances and the uncommon interest that follows this late-chartering San Antonio bank, bidders are advised this may yet prove to be a rare opportunity in retrospect. Estimate: $1,500 - $2,500. Provenance: From the Jack Copeland Currency Collection, Part IV. Click here for certification details from PCGS Banknote.
