Spring Tale is a famous portfolio of 10 color aquatints created in 1999 by the Italian master Sandro Chia, one of the leading exponents of Transavantgarde. The style of these prints reflects the expressive, chromatic language typical of Chia, in which vigorous forms and vibrant colors dialogue with the figurative tradition. Chia's work stands out for a strong return to figurative painting and drawing, in clear contrast with the conceptual art of the 1970s.
