Santicri has participated in numerous internationally renowned art exhibitions. Among the most notable, in 2022 he exhibited his works at the prestigious Palazzo Grillo in Genoa, and in 2023 he was present at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) in New York, thus expanding his visibility in both national and international contexts. Santicri-artist Technique: RESIN and Marble Powder Dimensions: H37 x L12 x D12 cm Condition: new Certificate of authenticity - hand-signed Edition: open edition Limited edition SOLD OUT The sculpture is a combination of symbolism and irony that draws the viewer's attention and pushes them to reflect on various levels of meaning. First of all, the gesture of the raised hand with the middle finger raised is universally recognized as a sign of defiance or rebellion, a bold way of sending a strong and unequivocal message. Here, this gesture is amplified by the fact that the hand supports the world itself, suggesting a kind of rejection or critique of the world as it is. It is a visual interpretation of the frustration or dissent toward aspects of our contemporary world. The use of this sculpture to represent the world itself, with the Earth resting on the middle finger, adds another layer of meaning. It could be interpreted as a critique of global challenges and socio-political tensions we face, or as a wake-up call about the fragility of our planet. The hand, in this context, assumes a role of responsibility and power, almost as if the artist is saying that the solution to these problems lies in our hands. In its audacity and provocation, this sculpture offers a prompt for discussion and reflection on the contemporary world, the challenges we face, and our role in shaping it. It is a work of art that can elicit a wide range of reactions and discussions, just as many works of contemporary art strive to do. The serial number may not correspond to the one in the photo. Born in 1992 in Macerata, Marche, the Italian artist followed a path that, between studies in surveying and architecture, led him to collaborate with an artisan who creates resin sculptures. There, the growing need to find himself and give vent to his creativity emerged. His works are sold worldwide, collaborating with galleries in Italy and Europe. His art is widely appreciated and a staple among collectors of street art paintings and sculptures, pop art, contemporary art. "It is never easy to classify one’s art; I try to convey what my eyes see, my way of perceiving what surrounds me, and I rework it with a design that blends well with modern times: impactful and memorable."
