Santicri Mixed media Dimensions: 30x20x2 cm Certificate of authenticity - hand-signed Limited edition x/8 At the top part of the canvas, the surface appears burned, deformed, and marked by a transformation that seems to elude any control. The fire bursts into the work and becomes the protagonist of an unexpected event, while the depicted face reacts to what is happening, looking at it with astonishment and fear. The character is no longer a static presence within the composition, but seems to enter into a direct relationship with the transformation of the canvas. Its gaze becomes an integral part of the work, creating a dialogue between what is depicted and what is actually happening to the surface. The work thus reflects on the fragility of matter and our need to maintain control. The fire represents the unforeseen, the event capable of breaking the balance and altering what seemed stable and definitive. The canvas thus becomes a moment of suspended tension between fear and transformation: the character witnesses the destruction of their own reality, while the artwork itself seems to react and change before their eyes. What initially appears as destruction thus becomes a creative process. The matter alters, the image changes, and the meaning of the work evolves, transforming the character’s fear into an integral part of its new identity. SHIPPING INSURED!
