Santicri has participated in numerous internationally renowned art exhibitions. Among the most significant, in 2022 he displayed his works at the prestigious Palazzo Grillo in Genoa, and in 2023 he was present at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) in New York, thereby expanding his visibility in both national and international contexts. Santicri was recognized among the Best-Selling Artists of 2024 by Artmayeur, one of the most renowned platforms in the art world. In the same year, he was also listed among the top three most-searched names on the Catawiki platform, further evidence of the growing appreciation for his work. These recognitions highlight the extraordinary talent and the ever-increasing visibility of Santicri in the contemporary art landscape. Santicri Mixed media Dimensions: 70x50x2 cm Certificate of authenticity - hand-signed Limited edition 1/8 The work "Sorry, I’m Just a Housemaid" is a bold and provocative statement that challenges the convention associated with the traditional depiction of a painting. The artist, through the use of a rag attached and partial erasure of the work, seems to comment on the stereotyped role of women in domestic dynamics and the degradation of the female figure to mere status of "maid". The choice of titling the work with a defensive statement, "Sorry, I’m Just a Housemaid", adds a layer of sarcasm and self-irony, perhaps revealing a critical message about social expectations and the perceptions of inferiority imposed on women. The presence of the rag as a tool of erasure seems to suggest a rebellion against the static nature of the iconic painting, reconsidering it through a more contemporary and feminist lens. Partial erasure could be interpreted as a search for liberation from predefined roles or a declaration of personal emancipation. Critics might arise regarding whether the provocation of the work risks being misunderstood or whether the act of partially erasing a historic artwork is considered an act of iconoclasm. However, the work surely opens a discussion on gender issues, stereotypes, and the power to redefine artistic narratives through a new contemporary gaze. SHIPPING INSURED! The package is carefully packed. The canvas is mounted on a wooden frame; frame not included. The artist established himself in 2024 as one of the most sought-after names on Catawiki, immediately ranking after icons such as Kaws and Banksy. His art stands out in an exclusive context that includes other categories of excellence, such as Rolex, Lego, Louis Vuitton, Porsche, Eames, Macallan, Tintin, Cartier, and Pokémon. A talent recognized not only for creative value but also as one of the most promising investments of the year. Born in 1992 in Macerata, Marche, the Italian artist followed a path that, through studies in Geometer and Architecture, led him to collaborate with an artisan who makes resin sculptures. There arose the growing need to find himself and unleash his creativity. His works are sold worldwide, collaborating with galleries in Italy and Europe. His art is widely appreciated and cannot be missing among collectors of street art, pop art, and contemporary art paintings and sculptures. "It’s never easy to classify one’s art; I try to convey what my eyes see, my way of perceiving what surrounds me, and I rework it with a design that suits modern times: impactful and memorable."
