Santicri Mixed media Size 75x50 cm The artwork is accompanied by a hand-signed Certificate of Authenticity Unique piece This contemporary canvas stage a moment of tension in which the depicted figure seems to witness directly the transformation of its own image. Its gaze turned upward and the unsettled expression suggest the perception of something happening beyond its control. The deformation of the canvas and the presence of the hammer make this transformation physical: the support is no longer a simple element on which to paint, but becomes part of the event. The figure thus becomes a witness to its own transformation. It observes, reacts and seems to question what is happening, creating a direct relationship between the character and the matter of the work. Witness thus reflects on the moment when an apparently immutable image is put into question. The deformation represents not only destruction, but the instant in which something changes and takes on a new form. The shipment is insured.
