A mythological kilim from the mountains in southern Turkey on the border of the provinces of Antalya and Konya. The maker has demonstrated all of her weaving techniques in this thick wool kilim. A selection of the symbols shows the wish to marry, wishes for a long life together within a family setting, good luck symbols, protective symbols in the form of large ram’s horns, a sign of masculine strength, smaller ram’s horns surrounding the yin-yang symbol, the complementary male and female energies. Furthermore mythical creatures, wolf jaws for protection against misfortune, combs for the protection of child and family, in short a kilim in which your eyes keep discovering new details. Thanks to the harmonious color choices the kilim has retained its calm appearance. Suitable for the floor in a larger room, draped over the sofa, or to hang on the wall.
