Schloss Lieser was revived by Thomas Haag – son of Fritz Haag's Wilhelm – who turned this once-faded Mosel estate into one of the region's brightest stars, with holdings in the great Brauneberger Juffer among others. 2009 was a great, ripe Mosel vintage. Bruce Sanderson from Wine Spectator gave it a rating of 92, Joel B. Payne from Vinous gave it 90, and Julia Harding MW gave it 17 out of 20.
