SCOTLAND, Royal Scottish Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, 1855, a silver award medal by B. Wyon after J. Noel Paton, Genius kneeling, supporting Pegasus and naked flame on platform, rev. laurel branch on tripod, edge named (David Bryce Elected Academician mdccclvi), 67mm, 222.37g (BHM 1884; BDM VI, 584; E 1323; cf. BSJ 52, 196; cf. Baldwin 64, 678; cf. Künker 154, 1730). Bright from past cleaning, otherwise good very fine, a rare award to Scotland’s leading Victorian architect £300-£400.
