Sculpture

Remarkably handmade cast-iron design sculpture, executed as a tall ladder with two abstractly formed human figures. At the bottom there is a figure climbing the ladder, while the second figure has taken a position at the top. The composition gives the sculpture a strong symbolic presence and can be interpreted as an imagining of ambition, development, perseverance, success and reaching new heights. The elongated shape and minimalist human figures give the work a contemporary and architectural character. It is precisely because of the open construction of the ladder that the silhouette changes when the sculpture is viewed from different angles. The entire object is made of cast iron and has a deep dark finish. The subtle texture of the material remains visible and underscores the handmade character. Small irregularities in surface and finish are inherent to the artisanal production process and give each piece character. A striking decorative art object for example for a modern interior, office, executive office, study or gallery-like environment. Because of its symbolism it is also a particularly meaningful gift for a new job, promotion, jubilee or other important milestone.
