Sculpture, Fermalibri Medusa Rondanini - 17 cm - Cast Stone

A distinctive sculpture representing the 'Head of Medusa' in all its uniqueness, inspired by the 'Rondanini Medusa' (stone cast). The Rondanini Medusa is a marble statue depicting the head of Medusa, probably a late-Hellenistic or Augustan copy of a Greek original from the classical or Hellenistic period that has been lost. Executed at more-than-life size, the head of Medusa is portrayed more beautiful and humanized than the apotropaic and always grotesque version that appeared as the Gorgoneion on Athena's aegis. The sculpture is suitable for enriching interiors of classical-style country houses, outbuildings, or sumptuous gardens. A careful shipment of the item with package tracking is guaranteed.
