Antique statue Violinist by Aug.Moreau on a marble base Splendid antique sculpture depicting a young violinist in the act of playing. The sculpture bears the original plaque "Par Aug. Moreau" and fits perfectly within the French artistic production between the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The sculpture in patinated regulus rests on a circular base in veined green marble; this Art Nouveau sculpture possesses a remarkable decorative presence and represents a fine work of art. The details of the face, clothing, violin, and bow attest to the mastery of the Belle Époque sculpture ateliers Artist: Aug. Moreau Title: Violinist Material: Patinated regulus (bronze effect) Base: Veined green marble Origin: France Style: Art Nouveau – Belle Époque Era: Late 19th century / Early 20th century Dimensions: Total height: about 43 cm; Base diameter: about 16 cm Condition: Excellent overall condition for this antique sculpture. The original patina is well preserved and shows only slight signs of time, compatible with the piece’s age. The violin, bow, and original identifying plaque are present. The marble base shows a small era chip along the edge, very discreet and practically invisible when the statue is displayed.
