Scuola italiana (XIX-XX) - Scena pompeiana

An interesting oil painting on panel depicting a lively Orientalist setting, with figures in traditional dress gathered on a terrace overlooking a Mediterranean landscape. The composition is characterized by an elegant female figure in a pink-orange dress, placed at the center of the scene, surrounded by other characters engaged in everyday activities. In the background, architectural elements, lush vegetation, and a bright blue sky confer depth and luminosity to the whole. The work features painting with a rapid, tactile and vibrant brushstroke, with a luminous palette rich in chromatic contrasts. The concise rendering of the figures and the attention to light effects recall the Post-Impressionist painting tradition and European Orientalist production. The painting is adorned with an important gilded frame with rich relief decoration, characterized by floral and ornamental motifs. The frame visible in the photo is included as a courtesy and does not constitute an integral part of the work. Any damage to the frame will not be a valid ground for claims or cancellations Canvas size: 43x33
