Remarks This Crown appeals through its beautifully preserved silver sunburst dial and sharp case profile. It offers an excellent opportunity to acquire an important foundational model in Japanese watchmaking, complete with the higher jewel-count Caliber 560. History Introduced in 1959 by Suwa Seikosha, the Seiko Crown succeeded the Seiko Marvel and brought an improved Diashock system, a larger balance, and a bigger mainspring barrel to the brand's lineup. It holds historical importance, serving as the direct architectural foundation for the very first Grand Seiko developed in 1960. The manual-winding Seikosha Caliber 560 operates at 18,000 vibrations per hour without a hacking mechanism. It was produced by Suwa Seikosha in both 19-jewel and 21-jewel grades, with this example featuring the 21-jewel specification.
