Remarks This Lord Matic is highly attractive with its blue vignette dial and the dynamic visual effect of its faceted crystal. Combined with the desirable English and Kanji day display and its reliable automatic caliber, it presents a wonderful opportunity to acquire a distinctly 1970s Seiko design in beautiful condition. History Introduced in the late 1960s, the Seiko Lord Matic line represented a significant pillar of the brand's mechanical catalog, positioned just below the King Seiko and Grand Seiko families. Powered by the advanced 5600 series of automatic calibers, the Lord Matic offered precise timekeeping, a thinner profile, and sophisticated day and date complications. During the 1970s, Seiko experimented heavily with case geometry, faceted crystals, and vibrant colored dials, creating a distinct design language that remains highly appreciated by collectors today. The caliber 5606 is recognized for its smooth operation and represents an important era of Japanese mechanical watchmaking.
