Seiko M354-5019, "Moonraker"

Japanese. This Seiko Memory-Bank Calendar Reference M354-5019, released in 1978, holds pop-culture status as the watch reference worn by Roger Moore as James Bond in the 1979 film "Moonraker". Housed in a rectangular stainless-steel case with front-facing command buttons, it features Seiko’s innovative dual-layer LCD, which displays time and day/date while allowing a full monthly calendar matrix. Recently fitted with a fresh battery (plus two extra ones) and fully operational, this example comes on its standard factory production bracelet (noting that the screen-used movie piece famously featured a slightly modified prop bracelet. This lot is accompanied by a Seiko presentation box and two promotional advertisements.
