An exceptionally beautiful four-piece antique parade bed linen set from a French trousseau dating from the Belle Époque (ca. 1890–1910). The set captivates with masterful craftsmanship and consists of a fine, densely woven fabric (very high-quality half-linen/metis or mako cotton), which feels wonderfully smooth and cool. Special details: - Exquisite handiwork: Beautiful white embroidery with three-dimensional relief floral motifs, delicate cutwork (Broderie Anglaise) and artfully pleated borders. - Monogram: All pieces bear the identical, elegantly intertwined Art Nouveau monogram “AL” in raised satin-stitch embroidery. - Noble lace: The edges are adorned with wide, handmade bobbin lace (in the style of Cluny/Le Puy). - Historical function: The sheets are original overlay sheets (Draps du dessus) with buttonholes to fasten them to the top cover. Delivery contents & measurements: - 2x overlay sheets: each approx. 228 cm × 146 cm - 2x pillowcases (square shape with 3-sided lace border): each approx. 77 cm × 73 cm Excellent, clean, and age-appropriate condition for textiles over 120 years old. The set is ready to use immediately for a historic ambience or as an elegant summer bed. A very small open spot on a lace border needs to be properly secured (see the pictures). No major stains or damages.
