Sepo (Severo Pozzati) - Inchiostri Pessi - 1970s

One of the most famous, bold, and sought-after subjects signed by Severo Pozzati, known as Sepo: the vintage advertising poster for the Padua-based Inchiostri Pessi historians. Originally created in 1923 (this is a 1970s reissue), this design perfectly embodies the revolutionary spirit and avant-garde aesthetics of the Art Deco period. Sepo ingeniously and provocatively condenses the product: a vibrant, dynamic black ink blot that takes the likeness of a satyr's face, which boldy holds a dripping goose quill between its lips. The bright red background creates a violent, magnetic color contrast with the black blot and the yellow of the typography, making this work an piece of immense visual impact, perfect for furnishing loft-industrial character spaces, design offices, or modern salons.
