SERENA GRASSETTI — CONTEMPORARY ARTIST Serena Grassetti is an Italian contemporary artist whose research probes the complexity of being, exploring identity, memory, fragility, and inner transformation through a personal and multidisciplinary artistic language. A daughter of art, trained at the Istituto d’Arte di Macerata, she has over the years developed a deep knowledge of matter and its expressive possibilities, experimenting with painting, sculpture, modeling, resins, charcoal, and techniques related to Natural Art. This experience forms the foundation of a practice in which material is not merely a support, but an integral part of the artwork’s meaning. At the center of her research is the body understood as a psychological and symbolic space: a presence capable of manifesting what words cannot express. Through incomplete figures, gestures charged with tension, and forms oscillating between presence and dissolution, Grassetti gives visual substance to the deepest states of human experience. Her work participates in the international dialogue of sculpture and contemporary figurative art, thematically related to the research of Rabarama, Berlinde De Bruyckere, and Xiang Jing, while the dialogue with Andy Warhol, Banksy, and KAWS opens a reflection on the different ways in which contemporary art interprets identity and the human condition.
