« Quais de Seine en automne, Paris » Oil on cardboard, Signed at lower left, Beautiful, luminous work by painter Serge BELLONI, nicknamed the "painter of Paris" who depicts a view of the Seine quays in Paris in autumn. The artist has skilfully captured the various nuances of an autumn day in Paris. In the foreground we can distinguish the animated Seine quays with silhouettes and the moored barges on the Seine, and in the background a clear view of Paris. We can relate our work to those presented at the collective exhibition at the Galerie des Orfèvres and the Musée Galliera in 1973. Nicknamed "the painter of Paris", Serge Belloni arrived in Paris in 1933 and settled in the Faubourg Saint-Antoine. His father, Luigi Belloni, was a decorator upholsterer. Serge Belloni entered the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts and organized his first exhibition in Paris in 1946, at the age of 26. At that time, the artist formed friendships with Lucien Moretti and Gérard Blondel. Serge Belloni devoted himself to faithfully reproducing authentic Paris, braving all seasons to go painting on site. Serge Belloni lived solely from his painting and throughout his life participated in numerous exhibitions in France and abroad. He was notably awarded the First Prize for Painting in Versailles (1949), the Marie Bashkirtseff Prize (1952), the silver medal of the City of Paris, and the vermeil medal of the City of Paris (1980). His works are preserved in numerous private and public collections around the world. Dimensions: 30 x 40 cm without frame and 50 x 60 cm with its original goldwood frame.
