Shelving unit - Boho - Rattan - Italian Design

Magnificent mid-20th-century Italian bookshelf made entirely of curved rattan, a piece that perfectly synthesizes the visual lightness and the organic elegance characteristic of postwar Mediterranean design. Its structure is highlighted by the succession of arched rods that rise from the sides and converge in a pronounced upper vault, creating an architectural silhouette with great personality that recalls both tropical-inspired furniture and the sculptural forms explored by Italian design in the 1950s and 1960s. The piece features two broad shelves crafted from braided rattan, whose warm and artisanal texture contrasts with the fluidity of the curved lines of the structure. The work with the material evidences the mastery typical of wickerwork and natural fiber cabinetmaking, combining resistance and lightness in a balanced and functional construction. Its aged honey hue adds depth and authenticity, highlighting the natural beauty of the canes and their chromatic variations. Beyond its function as a shelf or auxiliary furniture, its open design allows it to be used as a display for books, ceramics, plants or small decorative objects, integrating naturally both in Mid-Century Modern-inspired interiors and in coastal, Mediterranean or bohemian environments. The marked curvature of its profile and the visual transparency of the structure make this piece a decorative element with a strong sculptural presence, representative of the interest of mid-20th-century Italian design in organic forms, natural materials, and the harmony between functionality and aesthetic expression. Insured shipping and careful packaging.
