Shepard Fairey (OBEY) (1970) - Oil Lotus Woman

One of the strongest images in Shepard Fairey's graphic output, Oil Lotus Woman pairs his instantly recognizable visual language with a powerful environmental message. The female figure, constructed with the bold forms and contrasts characteristic of the artist, is set within a lush, symbolic vegetal world. Fairey uses the portrait here as an image of awareness and responsibility in facing environmental issues. Created in 2018 and published by Obey Giant, this screen print belongs to a limited edition of only 450 copies. It was printed on the famous cream Speckletone paper and signed and numbered by Shepard Fairey. A very beautiful example of a work that perfectly harmonizes Obey's aesthetics, the language of street art, and the artist's environmental commitment. Original screen print on cream Speckletone paper. Edition: 450 copies. Dimensions: 45.7 × 61 cm. Signed and numbered by the artist. Published by Obey Giant, Los Angeles, 2018.
