Original Groove (artist proof) Presentation of the Work Artist: Shepard Fairey (OBEY) Series: Box Set "50 Shades of Black" (Special 25th Anniversary Edition) Year of release: 2014 Support: Cream paper screen print (Speckletone) Technique: Hand-pulled screenprint Dimensions: 12 x 12 inches (approx. 30.5 x 30.5 cm) — "Vinyl Jacket" format the offered version is an AP Artist Proof This work comes from the iconic series produced to celebrate a quarter-century of graphic dissent. The "50 Shades of Black" style is distinguished by a minimalist yet powerful palette: black, metallic gold, and cream. The aesthetics borrow from the codes of Soviet propaganda, vintage advertising, and the punk movement. Unlike large-format posters, this 12x12 format pays tribute to the major influence of music and DJ culture in Fairey’s work. Rarity of the Edition: These serigraphs come from a box set limited to only 450 copies worldwide. Signature: Each piece is hand-signed and dated by Shepard Fairey in pencil (usually bottom right). Conservation quality: Use of high-quality pigment inks and archival paper, ensuring exceptional longevity without yellowing. Exhibition versatility: Its square "Cover Art" format lends itself to a modern display, ideal for wall grids or minimalist framing.
