The composition combines a large three-quarter exterior view with front, side, and rear drawings, a detailed twin-cam engine study, drivetrain illustrations, a top-down chassis view, and a technical side cutaway. The design includes: Large three-quarter exterior illustration of the Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV Front, side, and rear technical views Detailed 1962 cc inline-four engine illustration Alfa Romeo DOHC Twin Cam architecture Twin carburettor configuration Five-speed manual transmission Front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout Engine and gearbox illustration Top-down chassis and interior view Technical side cutaway Key mechanical and performance specifications Period-inspired typography and engineering graphics Warm vintage-style background Poster size: A1 (594 × 841 mm) Design & Aesthetic The poster combines the elegant proportions of the Bertone-designed Alfa Romeo coupé with the structured visual language of a vintage automotive engineering document. The deep Rosso Alfa bodywork creates a strong centerpiece against the warm ivory background, while technical line drawings, mechanical illustrations, specification panels, and restrained burgundy accents give the composition a distinctly period-inspired character. The clean profile, compact glasshouse, characteristic Alfa Romeo shield grille, and simple steel wheels highlight the understated elegance that made the Giulia-based coupés some of the most recognizable Italian designs of their era. Subject Significance The Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV represented one of the final and most developed versions of the celebrated 105-series Bertone coupé. The original Giulia Sprint GT was introduced in the early 1960s with bodywork designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro while working at Bertone. Its combination of elegant proportions, relatively low weight, sophisticated mechanical engineering, and sporting character established the basic formula that Alfa Romeo continued to develop throughout the following decade. Introduced in 1971, the 2000 GTV brought the model close to its ultimate road-going specification. Its 1962 cc version of Alfa Romeo’s famous all-alloy Twin Cam inline-four used twin carburettors and produced approximately 132 hp in European specification. Power was transmitted to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual gearbox, an unusually sporting specification for the period. The combination of a responsive twin-cam engine, manual transmission, rear-wheel drive, and relatively compact body gave the 2000 GTV the engaging character for which classic Alfa Romeos became famous. The mechanical sophistication extended beyond the engine. Disc brakes, carefully developed suspension, balanced weight distribution, and direct steering helped create a car that combined everyday usability with genuine sporting ability. Its Bertone-designed body remains equally significant. Thin pillars, a low beltline, clean surfaces, and carefully judged proportions created a restrained form that has aged exceptionally well and became one of the defining shapes of post-war Italian automotive design. Today, the Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV is regarded as one of the most desirable classic Alfa Romeo road cars. Its combination of Bertone styling, Twin Cam engineering, five-speed manual transmission, rear-wheel drive, and unmistakable Italian character has made it a favourite among collectors and driving enthusiasts.
