This artwork captures the Giulia’s distinctive proportions, advanced mechanical layout, and combination of family-car practicality with authentic Italian sporting character. Description This A1-format poster presents a technical blueprint-style illustration of the Alfa Romeo Giulia Super (1965), displayed through several exterior and mechanical views. The composition combines traditional orthographic drawings with structural and engine illustrations, dimensional markings, and a period-inspired technical information panel. The design includes: Top, front, rear, and side views of the Alfa Romeo Giulia Super Detailed chassis and structural layout Illustration of the twin-cam inline-four engine Wheelbase, track width, height, length, and overall-width markings Technical annotations and manufacturer-inspired specification panel Vintage approval stamp and drafting details Lightly aged background with a traditional technical-drawing border Poster size: A1 (594 × 841 mm) Design & Aesthetic Executed in the style of a historic automotive engineering drawing, the poster features precise dark-blue linework, balanced spacing, and clearly arranged dimensional annotations. The warm, lightly aged paper texture, restrained color palette, technical title block, and traditional border create the appearance of an archival Alfa Romeo development document. The combination of exterior, chassis, and engine views makes the artwork both decorative and informative. Subject Significance Introduced in 1965, the Alfa Romeo Giulia Super combined the practicality of a four-door family sedan with advanced engineering and genuine sporting performance. It became one of the defining versions of Alfa Romeo’s influential Type 105 Giulia range. The Giulia Super was powered by a 1,570 cc water-cooled twin-cam inline-four engine. Equipped with twin carburettors and paired with a five-speed manual transmission, the engine produced approximately 98 PS and delivered power to the rear wheels. Its sophisticated specification included independent front suspension, a well-located live rear axle, hydraulic disc brakes, and a relatively lightweight unitary body. This combination gave the Giulia responsive handling and strong performance compared with many contemporary family sedans. Although its upright body appeared conventional at first glance, the Giulia was developed with considerable attention to aerodynamic efficiency. Its distinctive roofline, recessed rear window, carefully shaped body surfaces, and truncated rear section helped it achieve an unusually low aerodynamic drag coefficient for a four-door sedan of its period. The Giulia Super successfully combined spacious accommodation, everyday practicality, mechanical sophistication, and Alfa Romeo’s traditional sporting character. It established a formula for the compact performance sedan long before the category became widely recognized. Today, the Alfa Romeo Giulia Super is regarded as one of the most important Italian sedans of the 1960s. Its innovative design, twin-cam engine, balanced chassis, and unmistakable character have made it a highly desirable classic.
