Shmidt.Art - Citroën - CITROËN 2CV6 SPÉCIAL · 1985 - 1980s

A premium automotive poster dedicated to the Citroën 2CV6 Spécial — the unmistakable French icon created around simplicity, practicality and ingenious engineering. This artwork celebrates the 1985 Citroën 2CV6 Spécial in a soft light-blue finish, combining the car’s charming utilitarian character with a carefully structured technical presentation. The portrait A1 poster features a large three-quarter illustration, front, side and rear views, a detailed air-cooled engine study, transparent chassis drawings and clearly arranged mechanical specifications. Simple by Design The Citroën 2CV was created with an exceptionally clear purpose: to provide affordable, practical and dependable transportation for everyday life. Its simple construction, lightweight body, soft suspension and easy-to-maintain mechanical layout helped turn it into one of the most recognizable and enduring cars in European automotive history. The 2CV6 Spécial The 2CV6 Spécial represents the essential character of the later 2CV range. It retained the model’s lightweight construction, minimalist approach and unmistakable rounded bodywork while using the larger 602 cc flat-twin engine. The result was a simple, economical and highly characterful car designed for daily driving rather than excess performance. Air-Cooled Flat-Twin Engine At the front of the car sits a 602 cc air-cooled flat-twin engine producing approximately 29 PS and 39 Nm of torque. Its compact horizontally opposed layout, visible cooling fan and exposed mechanical components are presented in a detailed technical illustration near the bottom of the poster. The engine’s simplicity and accessibility became an important part of the 2CV’s enduring appeal. Ingenious Suspension Engineering The 2CV is famous for its interconnected long-travel suspension system, designed to provide exceptional comfort over uneven roads and rural terrain. The technical cutaway included in the artwork reveals the relationship between the wheels, suspension components and lightweight body structure. This unusual engineering solution helped give the car its famously soft and distinctive driving character. Iconic French Design The rounded front wings, separate headlamps, corrugated bonnet, narrow upright cabin, roll-back canvas roof and curved rear bodywork create a silhouette unlike almost any other automobile. Finished in pale blue, the illustrated car captures the friendly, practical and unmistakably French personality of the 2CV6 Spécial. Designed for Everyday Roads With front-wheel drive, a four-speed manual gearbox and compact dimensions, the 2CV was engineered to be easy to drive, economical to operate and capable of handling a wide variety of road surfaces. Its elevated ride height, comfortable suspension and spacious cabin made it particularly well suited to rural roads, city streets and long everyday journeys. Detailed Illustrated Composition The artwork includes: Large three-quarter illustration of the Citroën 2CV6 Spécial in light blue Detailed front, side and rear technical views Illustrated 602 cc air-cooled flat-twin engine Transparent side drawing showing the suspension and chassis layout Overhead technical view of the engine, cabin and rear structure Detailed references to the long-travel interconnected suspension Roll-back canvas roof and practical body design Clearly arranged engine, power, torque, gearbox and drivetrain specifications Citroën 2CV6 emblem and period-inspired graphic details Vintage technical typography and archival presentation The warm ivory background, soft blue bodywork, black technical linework and subtle aged-paper texture give the poster a refined retro-industrial character. The balanced composition allows the central vehicle illustration to remain the main focus while the surrounding engineering drawings explain the clever simplicity behind the 2CV.
