A premium automotive poster dedicated to the 1967 Lamborghini Miura P400 — one of the most revolutionary Italian sports cars ever created and widely regarded as a pioneer of the modern mid-engine supercar. This artwork presents the Lamborghini Miura P400 through a detailed technical blueprint composition, combining precise front, side and rear elevations with a large top-down mechanical cutaway, dimensional references and comprehensive engineering specifications. The Birth of the Modern Supercar Introduced in 1966, the Lamborghini Miura transformed the world of high-performance road cars with its groundbreaking engineering and extraordinary styling. Developed by a young team of Lamborghini engineers, including Gian Paolo Dallara, Paolo Stanzani and Bob Wallace, the Miura introduced a radical transverse mid-engine layout to the world of exotic Italian grand touring automobiles. Its breathtaking bodywork, designed by Marcello Gandini at Bertone, combined flowing curves, an exceptionally low silhouette and distinctive headlight surrounds to create one of the most recognizable automotive designs of the twentieth century. The 1967 P400 represents the original production generation of the Miura, establishing the foundation for the later P400 S and P400 SV models. Revolutionary V12 Engineering At the heart of the Lamborghini Miura P400 is a naturally aspirated 3.9-litre V12 engine, mounted transversely behind the passenger compartment. Developed from Lamborghini's existing V12 architecture, the engine features a 60-degree configuration, four overhead camshafts and six Weber twin-choke carburettors. Producing approximately 350 PS, the engine delivers its power to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission. One of the Miura's most distinctive engineering features is its compact transverse drivetrain arrangement, integrating the engine, gearbox and differential into an exceptionally space-efficient mechanical package. This innovative configuration allowed Lamborghini to create a remarkably low and compact body while retaining the performance and character of a sophisticated twelve-cylinder grand touring car. Design & Aesthetic The poster uses a warm ivory background with restrained black, grey and burgundy detailing inspired by historic Lamborghini engineering drawings and Italian automotive technical publications of the 1960s. The composition features detailed front, side and rear elevations, highlighting the Miura's distinctive oval headlights, low front profile, sculpted side bodywork and characteristic rear engine ventilation. A large top-down technical illustration forms the centerpiece of the artwork, revealing the cockpit arrangement, transverse V12 engine, integrated transmission and rear drivetrain architecture. Fine dimensional markings, technical specifications and a period-inspired Automobili Lamborghini technical inspection stamp referencing Sant'Agata Bolognese reinforce the archival engineering character of the design. Poster Details Size: A1 (594 × 841 mm) Orientation: Portrait Subject: Lamborghini Miura P400 Year: 1967 Engine: 3.9-litre naturally aspirated V12 Displacement: 3929 cc Configuration: 60-degree V12 Cooling: Water-cooled Valvetrain: DOHC, four camshafts Induction: Six Weber twin-choke carburettors Power: approximately 350 PS Torque: approximately 355 Nm Transmission: 5-speed manual Drive: Rear-wheel drive Layout: Transverse mid-engine Dry Weight: approximately 1125 kg Top Speed: approximately 280 km/h Wheelbase: 2500 mm Engineering Significance The Lamborghini Miura P400 represented a fundamental departure from the traditional front-engine grand touring architecture that dominated high-performance European road cars during the early 1960s. By positioning a powerful V12 engine transversely behind the occupants, Lamborghini created a new approach to packaging, weight distribution and high-performance automotive design. The Miura's independent suspension, compact drivetrain arrangement and lightweight chassis contributed to its exceptional performance and distinctive driving characteristics. Its engineering philosophy influenced generations of mid-engine exotic automobiles and helped establish the fundamental architecture of the modern supercar. Italian Automotive Heritage The Miura emerged during a remarkable period of Italian automotive creativity, when manufacturers such as Lamborghini, Ferrari and Maserati were pushing the boundaries of performance, styling and mechanical innovation. Named after a famous breed of Spanish fighting bulls, the Miura became an enduring symbol of Lamborghini's bold approach to automotive engineering. Its combination of advanced mechanical architecture, extraordinary Bertone styling and twelve-cylinder performance established Lamborghini as a serious competitor in the exclusive world of Italian high-performance automobiles. Collector's Appeal Today, the Lamborghini Miura P400 is regarded as one of the most significant and desirable classic Italian supercars. Its revolutionary transverse V12 configuration, iconic Marcello Gandini design, limited production and historical importance have secured its position among the most celebrated automobiles ever manufactured. As the original version of the Miura family, the P400 holds particular significance for collectors interested in the earliest examples of Lamborghini's groundbreaking mid-engine philosophy. This poster is ideal for Lamborghini enthusiasts, collectors of classic Italian automobiles, admirers of Bertone design and enthusiasts of historic automotive engineering. It works particularly well in a home, office, garage, workshop, showroom or automotive collection.
