A pair of accent tables designed in the second half of the 20th century, conceived as an elegant reinterpretation of French neoclassical models inspired by the Louis XVI style. Their structure combines noble wood, gilded brass, and crystal, achieving a refined balance between decorative tradition and the sophisticated aesthetic typical of quality furniture produced during the last third of the past century. Each table features a solid square base veneered in warm-toned mahogany, decorated with meticulous geometric marquetry that frames a central classical-inspired medallion. This ornamental motif, placed at the center of the lower top, evokes the refined cabinetmaker’s work of the 18th century and adds visual depth to the set. The presence of contrasting edge-ponies and the symmetric arrangement of the grain reinforce the piece’s distinguished character. Four cylindrical turned brass columns rise from the base to support the upper smoked glass top with a beveled edge. These columns, inspired by classical architectural forms, recall the fluted supports found in the Louis XVI repertoire, though reinterpreted with more streamlined lines and contemporary materials. The circular brass finials contribute to the sense of balance and elegance. The glass top provides visual lightness and allows the rich decorative marquetry on the lower surface to be admired at all times, making it a focal element of the design. The contrast between the transparency of the glass, the gold-bright brass, and the warmth of the wood creates a particularly attractive combination, ideal for classic, neoclassical, or Hollywood Regency-inspired interiors. This is a pair of versatile and decorative tables, perfect as side or corner tables, that stand out for the quality of their materials, the harmony of their proportions, and their successful fusion of the eighteenth-century French aesthetic legacy with mid-to-late twentieth-century decorative design. Certified shipment and careful packaging. #madeinfrance
