Side table - Italian Marquetry Table - Wood - REF2026091307

Italian Floral Marquetry Music Box Side Table with Blue Velvet Interior, 1960s–1970s An elegant Italian marquetry side table combining decorative craftsmanship with a built-in mechanical music box and a compartmentalised storage interior. The tabletop features intricate floral marquetry in contrasting wood tones, framed by elaborate scrolling ornamentation inspired by traditional Italian decorative furniture. Four gracefully curved cabriole legs support the rectangular tabletop, which opens to reveal a striking royal-blue velvet-lined interior with five compartments for jewellery, watches, accessories and personal treasures. Mechanical Music Box: The integrated mechanical music box operates correctly. Opening the tabletop automatically activates the melody, creating an engaging combination of decorative furniture and musical craftsmanship. The underside retains its original "Made in Italy" label and a musical identification label reading "Isle of Capri", adding further character and provenance to the piece. Good vintage condition, with natural signs of age and use consistent with its period. The decorative marquetry retains its attractive colour contrasts, and the music box is fully functional. It will be shipped exactly as shown in the photographs, so please examine all images carefully. Dimensions: Height: 50.5 cm Width: 43.5 cm Depth: 33.5 cm
