It is a table that fits very well into the late Spanish Baroque tradition, crafted in walnut — that dense, warm and noble wood that ages with a deep patina — and supported by an exceptional six-point base, a design less common than the three- or four-legged structures and that provides a strong, almost architectural presence. The top, round in shape and with a polished finish, shows the living grain of walnut, with that soft shine that only appears in well-cared-for antique pieces. But it is in the base where the table reveals its character: six legs carved in spiral, thick, vigorous, with that helicoidal movement so characteristic of Iberian Baroque, where the wood becomes an exercise in technical virtuosity. The legs are joined by curved stretchers that reinforce stability and add a very elegant visual rhythm. Restorations are visible on the underside, discreet but noticeable to a keen eye: small consolidations, adjustments at joints, or replacements of material that seek to preserve the structure without altering its historical reading. Nothing intrusive; rather the kind of respectful intervention that allows the piece to stay alive and functional. In its formal language — Solomon’s-works legs, robustness, balanced proportions, use of walnut — the table clearly points to the XVIIIth century, perhaps the mid or late part, when this type of furniture coexisted between the domestic and the representational. However, as is the case with many rural pieces or regional workshop pieces, some traits could extend toward the early XIXth century, so a dating between the late XVIIIth and early XIXth centuries would be reasonable. Certificate shipping and good packaging.
