Side table - Walnut

Wooden coffee table with a spiral-turned leg, 19th century This coffee table dates from the 19th century and represents a typical example of European craftsmanship of the era. The spiral-turned leg, also known as a 'barley twist', was a decorative technique highly valued during the Victorian era and in 19th-century Italy. These tables were used as functional and decorative elements in bourgeois parlors, often to display precious objects or as stands for lamps and books. This type of furniture is especially appreciated by antique collectors and enthusiasts of period interiors who seek authentic pieces to enrich spaces in a classic or eclectic style. The upper surface provides an ideal area to display decorative objects, while the lower shelf adds functionality. The appeal of these small tables lies in their ability to bring a touch of historical elegance to any home setting.
