First printing, signed by author on flyleaf in ink, dated June 27, 1946. Previous owner's name, date, place in ink on front pastedown and name or notation in ink on front cover. One-color illustrated paper-covered boards are age-toned with scattered soiling and scuffs. Toning and rubbing to spine and joints. Shelfwear to edges, corners bumped, chipping to head of spine. Interior is age-toned with foxing to edges and endpapers, and discoloration to endpapers from tape, no longer present and no residue except to rear pastedown. Binding rather tight and square.
