All auctions / Ancient Art / silver-copper alloy - Bangle - Rashaida / Yemen

For sale is an impressive and heavily crafted traditional silver bracelet from the mid-20th century (circa 1950), typical of the prominent silversmithing of Yemen and of the Bedouin Rashaida tribes on the Arabian Peninsula. The piece is abundantly adorned with elaborate filigree work, twisted cords, fine granulation, and floral pattern engravings. At the center of the design is the distinctive, prominently raised closure piece. With a substantial total weight of about 148 g, this is a particularly heavy and solid collectible. The silver content is unknown here. It could be a low-grade silver-copper alloy. The outer diameter is about 10.5 cm to 11 cm, the inner diameter measures roughly 5.5 cm, and the width is around 2.5 cm to 3 cm. The bracelet is in very good antique condition with a beautiful, untouched patina and slight signs of wear that perfectly underline its authentic historical character. The item will be securely and carefully packaged for transport and shipped with tracking.
