The canvas presents the knight and his mount, Rocinante, depicted through bold fragmentation of geometric shapes and defined black outlines reminiscent of stained glass. The artist uses a highly saturated palette of primary and secondary colors, where blues, yellows, reds, and oranges clash and interweave to give life to the knight’s armor, the lance he holds with dignity, and the Manchegan landscape. In the background, a schematic sun and a set of simplified but recognizable windmills anchor the narrative in its geographic and psychological context. The composition employs a “multiple perspective” approach to capture the essence of the character’s determination and idealism, blending figurative elements with controlled abstraction that lends the piece dynamic modernity and deep cultural resonance.
