Sino-Tibetan Miniature Brass Guardian Figure | Trampling Pose, Heavenly

East Asia, China / Tibet. A small standing guardian figure of leaded brass, probably made for a household shrine. He plants one foot firmly on a curling form that may be a wave, a cloud or a subdued creature, in the triumphant trampling pose. The left arm reaches outward as though it once held a weapon or attribute, now lost. The pose recalls the Heavenly Kings and wrathful protectors of Chinese Buddhist imagery, though the softened modeling leaves his exact identity open. A Certificate of Authenticity will accompany all winning bids. Item # 205752
