He graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Lyon, and began his artistic practice with graffiti alongside Jone Hopper in the early 1990s. His work sits within a free and instinctive approach, nourished by urban culture and contemporary visual exploration. Over the years, his painting evolves toward a rougher, more expressive handwriting, blending abstraction, free figuration and the energy of gestural mark-making. Recognized for a singular and immediately identifiable universe, Skepa develops a powerful and vibrant body of work, regularly presented on the international art market.
