Serpentiform Ring - Cobra - Cultured Pearl - Ancestral Protection - Evoker of purity and preciousness A striking and singular ring, remarkable for its abundant material work and the contrast. The band takes the shape of a snake, notably evoking a cobra, whose body entwines gracefully around the central pearl as if to protect it. The work is particularly decorative: the entire surface of the snake features a fine relief imitating scales, giving the jewel a lot of texture and depth. The snake's head, carefully molded and polished, is highlighted by small red/pink stones at the eyes, providing a delicate contrast with the golden tone of the metal and the bright white of the pearl. The open interlace patterns visible on the sides extend the serpentine movement and give the ring a sculptural silhouette that is particularly original. On this ring, the snake's body coils around a cultured pearl, creating the impression that it envelops and protects it. This composition can thus symbolically evoke the protection of a treasure, wisdom, the cycle of transformation, and renewal. The combination of the white pearl, traditionally evoking purity and preciousness, with the powerful figure of the snake gives this creation a dimension that is at once animal, spiritual, and symbolic. Note, The snake is one of the oldest and most universal symbols in the history of religions. Present in many civilizations, it holds a rich and sometimes ambivalent meaning, associated according to traditions with protection, knowledge, transformation, healing, power, and renewal, notably due to its ability to shed its skin. In ancient Egypt, the cobra holds a particularly important place. In the form of the uraeus, it is associated with divine protection, sovereignty, and royal power, appearing notably on the crowns of the pharaohs. In the traditions of India, Hinduism, and Buddhism, snakes or Nāgas are symbolic beings linked to water, fertility, protection, and spiritual forces. In Buddhist iconography, the naga king Mucalinda is notably represented protecting the Buddha during his meditation. In biblical and Christian tradition, the serpent has a dual symbolism: associated with temptation in Genesis, it also appears as a symbol of healing with Moses' bronze serpent.
