Ancient Chinese snuff bottle in translucent light-green jade dating to the 19th century (Late Qing period). The stone exhibits a pleasant waxy luster and natural dark inclusions that give character to the piece. On the front there is a relief-incised panel with the four-character seal script mark “乾隆年製” (Qianlong Nian Zhi). The mark is apocryphal/of respect, a typical feature of nineteenth-century production that paid homage to the prestigious preceding reign. The back shows a stylized, low-relief floral motif, partially worn by time and use. Complete with a coordinating jade stopper, a cork collar, and the original metal spoon. Weight without stopper: 67 g Stopper: 3.3 g Conditions: Structurally integral and in good condition for an object of the nineteenth century. Presents veining in the stone along the lower edge of the right-hand side panel and slight surface wear at the center of the side, consistent with age and authentic period use. Interior with original patina.
