Sodalite Swan Sculpture from Brazil - Perfect Details...

Refined sculpture in natural sodalite with a contrasting beak — This fascinating sculpture depicts an elegant swan, skillfully carved from a single block of natural sodalite. The artist's mastery is revealed in the care for detail, from the sinuous curves of the neck to the delicate texture of the feathers, imitating the softness of the bird's plumage. The intense blue color of sodalite, with its characteristic white calcite veining and darker inclusions, creates a dynamic and captivating visual effect, making every angle a discovery. The swan, a universal symbol of grace, beauty and transformation, is here interpreted in a material that enhances its nobility. Sodalite, a mineral belonging to the tectosilicate group, is valued for its deep blue-azure color, often interrupted by white calcite inclusions or, more rarely, by pyrite. It typically forms in alkaline igneous rocks, such as nepheline syenites, and its extraction from the Brazilian subsoil reveals the geological richness of this region. The mineral's glossy surface captures and reflects light, highlighting the depth of color of the blue and the complexity of the natural veining. A detail of particular value is the beak, made from a contrasting orange-yellow mineral, which adds a touch of realism and vitality to the work, demonstrating careful material selection and meticulous execution. The sculpture's generous dimensions make it a focal point in any setting. This specimen is not only a decorative object of great aesthetic impact, but also a collectible piece that celebrates the intrinsic beauty of nature and human artisanal skill. Its presence can adorn a study, a living room, or a display case, serving as an elegant furnishing complement or a precious addition to a collection of carved minerals. The condition is excellent, and the sculpture presents in full integrity, ready to be admired.
